The George Washington Bridge fiasco starring Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) has now resulted in two resignations and no real answers about why two lanes of the world’s busiest bridge heading out of Fort Lee, New Jersey were suddenly and inexplicably closed in September.

Was it really about a spontaneous traffic study that bridge officials were told to implement quietly — and never actually occurred?

Or was it a stunt designed to punish the mayor of Fort Lee for not endorsing the governor’s re-election?

Noting the governor’s history of using his political power for personal reasons, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow connected the dots in the scandal on Friday night.
